Traffic Delays Ahead Through Oswego's Route 71 Construction Zone

Drivers in and around the Route 71 construction zone in Oswego are in for some delays in the coming days.
Oswego Public Works Director Jennifer Hughes released the following schedule of work to begin this week that will include portions of Route 71 being brought down to one lane.
Monday Construction will begin on the noise wall north of IL 71 near Paradise Parkway. Flaggers will be utilized and Route 71 will be one lane in the area. Duration: 1-2 weeks.
Tuesday Calumet Street at Route 71 will be closed. A detour route will be installed. Duration: Plus or minus one week
Tuesday or Wednesday Paving will begin on the Route 71 median between Paradise Parkway and Forest. Work includes paving the left turn lanes on Route 71 on east and west of Washington/Plainfield. This will require flaggers and Route 71 will be one lane. Duration: one day
Thursday or Friday Traffic pattern switch on Plainfield/Washington. Currently all traffic is utilizing the west side of the roadway. Traffic will be switched to utilize the east side of the roadway. Duration: Several weeks.
Ongoing Work will continue on sidewalks and curbs at various locations.
