Oswego Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish a fire Monday night at the Caterpillar facility along Route 31, according to an Oswego Fire Protection District news release.

Firefighters were called to the facility at about 6:55 p.m. for a report of a possible fire. When they arrived, firefighters found a fire in an air-handling unit, and it was brought under control within 10 minutes of them arriving on the scene.

No injuries to either employees or fire personnel were reported, and the  cause of the fire is still under investigation. A damage estimate is also yet to be determined.

Units from the Montgomery Countryside and Bristol Kendall Fire Departments provided aid to the Oswego Fire Protection District.
