The Oswegoland Optimist Club's 2016 Midwest Mardi Gras at Whitetail Ridge promises to be its best year yet.

The evening of Saturday, March 19, will include a delicious bayou buffet, an extensive silent auction, raffles, and music. The first band featured is the Dave Katz Jazz & Dixieland Band. Each musician in this band is a professional with an extensive resume ... literally a "who's who" among the world's finest musicians.

Clint Haffenrichter is the Director of Swing Assembly, the featured band during the second half of the Midwest Mardi Gras 2016.  Swing Assembly is a 12-piece big band that mixes the elegance of a swing band with the festivity of contemporary funk, soul and pop.  Featuring two vocalists, six horns, and the hippest rhythm section in the Chicago area.

When Clint is not performing with either of his two bands, Swing Assembly or Standard Product, you may hear him playing with the Yorkville Big Band and the Vern Spevak Big Band of Oswego.  Clint is also a music educator at Prairie Point Elementary in Oswego.

All of these talented and gifted music educators are coming together to help The Oswegoland Optimist Club raise funds for three Oswego nonprofit organizations.

The three beneficiaries are The Susan Kiley Memorial Scholarship Fund, which has provided scholarships to graduating seniors since 1989.  The Oswegoland Optimist Club, which orchestrates the annual Family Christmas Project. The third recipient is the Oswego YMCA.  The Y provides healthy, educational and affordable programming for area residents, and no child is ever turned away from programming for inability to pay.

Only 300 tickets will be sold to this year's
Midwest Mardi Gras. Tickets are only available online at Sponsorship information is available by calling 630-300-8104.
