District 308 Art Teachers Nominated for State Honor

The Illinois Art Education Association (IAEA) has nominated two Community Unit School District 308 teachers, Angela Robinson and Jamie Glaser, for its Educator of the Year award.

The Art Educator of the Year award recognizes outstanding educators in the area of art and honors those who have created lasting impressions on the future. Nominees must have made significant contributions to art education on the state level to be eligible. 

Angela Robinson currently teaches at Thompson Junior High School as a seventh and eighth grade visual and graphic arts instructor. She graduated from Eastern Illinois University, Charleston, with her bachelor’s degree in fine arts in art education. She later received her master’s degree in counseling psychology and art therapy from the Adler School of Professional Psychology, Chicago.

Jamie Glaser has been with School District 308 since 2007 and is currently an art teacher at Lakewood Creek Elementary School. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, in industrial design, and later received her masters in the art of teaching from Aurora University, in Aurora, Ill. 

The Illinois Art Educator Association is a professional organization for art educators. Its mission is to provide leadership for the advancement of excellence in art education.
