Oswego Church Broken Into Over the Weekend: Police

Paraphernalia possession

A Plano juvenile and an 18-year-old Yorkville woman were both arrested at about 3 a.m. Dec. 20 near Route 30 and Briarcliff Road, according to a Kendall County Sheriff's Office report. Deputies said the 17-year-old driver originally was stopped for an equipment violation and was found to be driving with a license that did not permit her to be driving at that hour. She was charged with driving without a valid license. Her passenger, Tiffany Kern, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia after police discovered she was carrying a glass pipe used to smoke marijuana, the sheriff's office said.

Church break-in

Oswego Police are investigating a burglary that took place sometime overnight Dec. 19 at St. Anne's Church, 551 Boulder Hill Pass. The burglary was discovered and reported to police at about 6:20 a.m. Dec. 20. The value of the stolen items is still unknown, police said. 

Juvenile arrested with marijuana 

A male juvenile was arrested for marijuana possession at about 12:30 a.m. Dec. 20 near Mill and Gates Creek, according to an Oswego Police report. He also faces an addition charge of possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

Wanted on warrant

Erik Weimar, 47, of 9-99 block of Royce Road, Oswego Township, was arrested on an outstanding warrant Dec. 19 after the Kendall County Sheriff's Office were called to his home regarding a theft to his car that had occurred in September. In the theft, Weimar said a laptop computer and other personal items were taken from his car. Deputies do have a suspect in the theft case, according to reports. 

Trailer stolen

A Yorkville man reported his car trailer stolen at about 10:50 a.m. Dec. 19 while it was parked in the 1300 block of Route 30, according to an Oswego Police report. The trailer is valued at about $2,500, police said. 

Bicyclist hit by car

A 33-year-old Montgomery man was taken to Rush-Copley Medical Center after being struck by a car driven by a 46-year-old Aurora woman at about 4 p.m. Dec. 16 near Routes 30 and 34. No tickets have been issued in the accident. 

Retail theft

Diamante Holt, 20, of Montgomery, was arrested for retail theft at about 3 p.m. Dec. 15 at a store in the 2500 block of Route 34, according to an Oswego Police report. She is alleged to have stolen about $123 in merchandise, police said. 


Arnold Dunem, 60, of the 400 block of Brookside Drive, Oswego, was arrested for assault and criminal damage to property at about 9 p.m. Dec. 14 at his home, according to an Oswego Police report.
