Happy Helpers, a nonprofit organization focused on providing volunteer opportunities for kids 5-17 years old, is hosting a Multi-Organization Donations Drive at the Oswego YMCA, 160 E. Washington, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11

This event is free and open to the public. The donations drive will mostly benefit local causes such as the Kendall County PADS, Oswego Senior Center and the Oswego Fire Department Toys for Tots program.

Donations can include paper towels, disinfecting wipes, copy paper, tissue paper, toilet tissue, hand soap, bottled water, juice boxes, canned meat, soups, sugar, kid friendly cereal, diapers, laundry detergent, adult size gloves, mittens, hats, scarves, socks, gently worn shoes, dog toys, dog beds and treats, and new unwrapped toys.

Participating groups can drop off their donations at the event on Oct. 11 and learn about other community groups like the Oswego Optimist Club and Kiwanis of Oswego, have a chance at winning raffle prizes or sign-up to join Happy Helpers for free.

Arrangements can also be made to pick up the donations before
Oct. 11 by emailing

A GoFundMe has been started to cover the costs associated with this event, 100 percent of all remaining proceeds will be donated to these charities.
