Oswego will get a late blast of summer temperatures over the Labor Day weekend.
Temps are forecast for the low to mid-90s with high humidity. The National Weather Service also has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook with a chance of thunderstorms possible for most of the weekend.
Severe weather is not anticipated, but slow-moving storms could produce heavy rains, the NWS said.
The soaring temperatures and humidity will make it a perfect weekend for heading to the Oswegoland Park District Civic Center pool for its final days of the season.
While Winrock Pool closes for the season at 7 p.m. Friday, the Civic Center will be open Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Daily admission is $6 this weekend.. Active and retired military enter for free with ID. Children under 2 also enter for free.
It's been a tough year for the Park District pools, as the summer got off to a cool and rainy start. According to Park District reports, about 30 percent of operating hours were lost to inclement weather in summer's first month and half.
