PrairieFest Makes Food Network Debut This Week

Actor and comedian Anthony Anderson filmed at this year's PrairieFest over the course of two days.

PrairieFest will makes its Food Network debut this week.

The episode of Carnival Cravings with Anthony Anderson featuring Oswego's annual Father's Day weekend festival will air for the first time at 9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2.

To mark the event, the Oswegoland Park District is hosting a premiere party at Tap House Grill in Downtown Oswego that gets underway at 7:30 p.m. The party is open to the public.

The event will feature red carpet arrivals and tastes of PrairieFest, including Sprecher Root Beer Braised Beef with Gouda Sandwich and Blaum Bros. PrairieFyre Cocktail.

Anderson and his crew filmed at PrairieFest this summer over the course of two days. While at the fest the actor and comedian took the time to meet countless fans and pose for pictures. 

Local organizations, businesses and events that may make an appearance during the show are 
BBQ Express, Genoa Concessions, Pizza Cucina, Page’s Popcorn and Favors, Oswego Tap House Grill, Dunk-A-Cop Win-A-Doughnut, Bucket Brigade and the Oswegoland Optimist Club.

Carnival Cravings isn't PrairieFest's first brush with national television exposure.  Cooking Channel show Carnival Eats filmed an episode at the festival in 2014.
