Home Broken Into Downtown, Cash Stolen

Marc Weakman, 42, of Aurora, was arrested for DUI at about 12:45 a.m. June 7 near Route 30 and Douglas Road, according to a Kendall County Sheriff's Office report. He was originally pulled over for improper lane usage, the sheriff's office said.

Underage drinking, marijuana possession

Robert Fogleman, 19, of 7261 Schlapp Road, was arrested for underage drinking, possession of marijuana and driving with a suspended license at about 2 a.m. June 6 at Fitkins Drive and Joyce Court in Grove Estates Subdivision, according to a Kendall County Sheriff's Office report. Deputies were called to the scene for a report of a suspicious vehicle parked in the area. 

Cars damaged

A resident near Fawn Drive and Bison Road reported to Oswego Police that someone damaged the windshield and sunroof on two of their cars sometime before 11:25 p.m. June 5. Damage is estimated at more than $1,500, police said.

IRS scam

An Oswego resident in the 500 block of Arbor Lane was scammed out of about $5,000 after someone called saying they were an IRS agent and convinced the resident that there was a warrant for his arrest and a lawsuit against him. The victim deposited the money into an account  given by the scammer, police said. The incident was reported to police at about 10:45 a.m. June 5.


Leonard Matulewicz, 56, of 303 Flintrock, was arrested for DUI and violation of the Illinois Firearms Concealed Carry Act at about 8:30 p.m. June 4 in the 2000 block of Route 34, according to an Oswego Police report. 


A home in the 400 block of Madison Street was broken into sometime before noon June 3, according to an Oswego Police report. Entry to the home was made through an unlocked back door. Stolen was about $200 cash, four pocket knives and a $25 U.S. Savings Bond.

Park tagged with graffiti 

Oswego Police responded to a report of equipment at Tuscany Trail Park being spray-panted with graffiti sometime before 10 a.m. June 2.

School window broken

The Kendall County Sheriff's Office is investigating a window that was broken in the rear of Long Beach Elementary School sometime before 5:15 p.m. June 2.

Criminal damage to property domestic battery

Melise Williams, 33, of the 100 block of Dolores St., Oswego, was arrested for domestic battery criminal damage to property and obstructing a police officer at about 10:20 a.m. June 1 at his home, according to a Kendall County Sheriff's Office report. Deputies were called to the scene for a report of Williams breaking out the windows of a vehicle with a baseball bat and slashing the tires of a vehicle, police said. He also refused to drop the bat when instructed, police said. 

Marijuana possession

A 17-year-old juvenile was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana at about 7:35 p.m. June 1, according to a Kendall County Sheriff's Office report. Deputies made the arrest after three juveniles rode their skateboards past a squad car and the deputy smelled marijuana.
