May 19, 2015 04:01PM ● By Steven Jack

The Oswego Public Library District’s Summer Reading program, Every Hero Has a Story, will start on Monday, June 1, and continue through Sunday, August 2.

Infants to adults can be involved with Summer Reading. Just stop by the reference desk in the Adult or Youth Services Department to pick up a reading log.

A Kick-off Celebration will be held at the Montgomery Campus on Monday, June 1, from 10:30 a.m. to noon.  There will be raffles, carnival games, and costumed characters.   This event is for kids, teens, and adults. Stop by to have some fun and pick up your reading log.

Other youth programs this summer will include a magic show with Dennis DeBondt, a balloon show by Smarty Pants, and a Superhero Training Camp.

Adult Services is offering a self-defense class with the Oswego Police Department, computer classes for the adult beginner, and a dramatic retelling of the sinking of the Eastland by Terry Lynch.

Call 630-554-3150 for additional information about Summer Reading or any programs.
