New Assistant Principal Hired for Thompson Junior High

 Thompson Junior High School will have a new assistant principal for the 2015-16 school year.
The School Board approved the hiring of Christine Marsella at its meeting Monday, May 11. Marsella has served as dean of students in Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202 since 2012.
“We are excited to welcome Christine into the School District 308 community,” Assistant Superintendent for Administrative Services John Sparlin said. “Christine comes to us with a wealth of experience, and we know she will serve Thompson well.”
In her new role, Marsella will provide leadership and problem-solving assistance for students, parents and staff in regard to attendance and discipline. She will also assist in interpretation of school policies and procedures for students, parents, staff and community members, among other responsibilities. 
Marsella has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Illinois State University, Normal, and a master’s degree in in educational leadership from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.

Her starting salary is $59,795.99.
