Drunken Driver Plows into Yard, Destroys Fence: Police

Joan Guzman, 20, of the 0-99 block of Stratford Road, was arrested for DUI at about 6 a.m. May 17 after he drove his vehicle into a yard near Boulder Hill Pass and Garden Drive, according to a Kendall County Sheriff's Office report. The vehicle partially destroyed a resident's fence and struck two trees, police said. No injuries were reported. Guzman was also arrested for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.
Kenneth Johnson, 43, of 606 Ebony Drive, Oswego, was arrested for DUI and cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and improper lane usage at about 12:45 a.m. May 16 near Fifth Street and Route 34, according to an Oswego Police report.
Fight over school
A Boulder Hill juvenile who lives on Seneca Drive was arrested for domestic battery at about 5:40 a.m. May 15 after shoving a family member, according to a Kendall County Sheriff's Office report. The shove resulted in an argument about the juvenile attending school, police said.
A resident in the 200 block of Willington Way reported her purse stolen from her vehicle sometime overnight May 13-14, according to Oswego Police. The resident reportedly left her garage door open overnight. The purse and its contents are value at about $630, police said.
Melissa Raginis, 25, of Yorkville was arrested for retail theft at about 8:45 a.m. May 14 at the Oswego Walmart, according to an Oswego Police report. She is alleged to have taken about $180 in merchandise.
Speakers stolen from YMCA
The Oswego YMCA reported that someone stole a set of speakers and stands valued at about $1,000 sometime during the last 30 days, according to an Oswego Police report.
Peter Joy, 57, of the 100 block of Tealwood Road, Montgomery, was arrested for DUI at about 9 p.m. May 10 near Fernwood and Roulock Roads in Oswego Township, according to a Kendall County Sheriff's Office report. He was also cited for illegal transportation of alcohol and driving without headlights, police said.
Drug paraphernalia possession/obstructing police
Bradley Friel, 27, of the 0-99 block of Ashlawn Ave, in Boulder Hill, was arrested for obstructing identification, possession of drug paraphernalia and on an outstanding warrant about about 8:20 p.m. May 9, according to a Kendall County Sheriff's Office report. Friel was allegedly spotted wandering around a vacant house next door to his. After deputies stopped Friel, he tried to give them a fictitious name; however, deputies knew his true identity, the sheriff's office said.
Sean Carroll, 20, of the 0-99 block of Rickard Drive West, Oswego, was arrested for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor at about 10:15 p.m. May 8 in the 7000 block of Sundown Lane, Oswego Township, according to a Kendall County Sheriff's Office report. Carroll was allegedly found in Saw Wee Kee Park after hours, police said.
