Stolen Cadillac Ends Up in Fox River: Police

St. Patrick’s Day crackdown 

Oswego Police reported the results of their St. Patrick’s Day DUI crackdown. Police made 1 DUI arrest and handed out 32 seatbelt violations. The initiative was funded by federal traffic safety funds through the Illinois Department of Transportation.

Brick through a window

Oswego Police are investigating a case of someone throwing a brick through a window in the 400 block of Canterbury Court sometime before 5 a.m. March 30. About $1,200 in damage was done in the incident, police said.

Stolen car found in river

The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a car stolen from the 0-99 block of Ridgefield Road sometime before 11:45 p.m. March 29. The car, a 2005 Cadillac STS, belonged to a 25-year-old Aurora man. It was later found crashed into the Fox River along Route 25, the sheriff’s office said.

Domestic battery

Vaishali Katyarmal, 35, of 303 Addison Court, Oswego, was arrested for two counts of domestic battery at about 5:15 p.m. March 28 at her home, according to an Oswego Police report. She was taken to the Kendall County Jail.

DUI

Christopher Watts, 25, of Yorkville, was arrested for DUI at about 11:45 p.m. March 27 in the 100 block of Jackson Street, according to an Oswego Police report. A juvenile accompanying Watts was arrested for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor and obstructing a police officer.

DUI

Elena Bickel, 25, of Aurora, was arrested for DUI, marijuana possession and driving while license suspended at about 3 a.m. March 28 near Routes 34 and 71, according to an Oswego Police report. 

Resisting arrest

A 16-year-old Oswego boy was arrested for resisting arrest, unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor and obstructing a police officer at about 11:45 p.m. March 27 in the 100 block of Jackson Street, according to an Oswego Police report.

Theft by deception

Oswego Police are investigating a case of theft by deception that occurred at about 3 p.m. March 26 in the 600 block of Briarwood Lane. About $1,900 was taken in the incident, police said. 

DUI

Duka Smith, 38, of Aurora, was arrested for DUI, obstructing justice and driving without registration at about 4:40 p.m. March 26 in the 2700 block of Route 34, according to an Oswego Police report. He was taken to the Kendall County Jail.

DUI

Donald Jungels, 45, of 384 Kensington Drive, Oswego, was arrested for DUI at about 9 p.m. March 25 near Route 34 and Pearces Ford Road, according to an Oswego Police report. 

Felony retail theft

Donna Eicrhelberger, 31, and Lizabeth Arias, 19, both of Aurora, were arrested for retail theft at about 9:15 p.m. March 26 at Oswego Walmart, according to an Oswego Police report. The pair are alleged to have stolen about $990 worth of merchandise, police said.

DUI

Isaac Ruiz, 32, of Oswego, was arrested for DUI at about 10 p.m. March 25 near Mayfield Drive and Orchard Road, according to a Kendall County Sheriff’s Office report. Ruiz was pulled over after he was observed running two red lights, the sherrif’s office said.

Domestic battery

Jelisa Correa, 23, of the 1500 block of Light Road, was arrested for domestic battery at about 5:45 p.m. March 23 at her home, according to a Kendall County Sheriff’s Office report. The battery had occurred the previous evening, police said.
