An Oswego man is facing weapons charges after being pulled over by Aurora Police earlier this month.
According to an Aurora Police release, Jesus Villegas Jr., 25, of the 600 block of Manhattan Circle, Oswego, was charged March 11 with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful use of a firearm by a felon, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, and unlawful possession of a controlled substance after a traffic stop at about 10:40 p.m. March 10 by Special Operations detectives at North and River streets.
A search of the vehicle Villegas was driving allegedly yielded a loaded handgun and over 25 Xanax pills, police said.
At the time of his arrest, Villegas was on parole for residential burglary, police said. As a result of the charges, the Illinois Department of Corrections issued a no-bond warrant for violating his parole.
