Oswego Township Woman Loses $1,000 in Craigslist Scam

Bank-owned property damaged
Someone broke into a bank-owned home in the 2000 block of Wolf Road sometime before 7:30 p.m. Feb. 21, according to a Kendall County Sheriff’s Office report. Damage was done to several doors at the house, the sheriff’s office said.
Orlando Cuevas, 37, of the 0-99 block of Hubbard Way, Oswego Township, was charged with domestic battery at about 5 a.m. Feb. 21 at his home, according to a Kendall County Sheriff’s Office report. Cuevas is alleged to have pulled the hair and hit the face of a female victim.
Dennis Kellen, 48, of Aurora, was arrested for DUI at about 2:10 a.m. Feb. 21 near Douglas Road and Route 34, according to a Kendall County Sheriff’s Office report. He was originally stopped for driving in the wrong lane, the sheriff’s office said.
Skate park spray-painted
Oswego Police responded to a call for paint sprayed on equipment at Chesterfield Skate Park sometime before 11:!5 a.m. Feb. 20.
Drug paraphernalia possession
Kevin Hartman 54, of Aurora, was arrested for marijuana possession and drug paraphernalia possession at about 11 p.m. Feb. 19 at the Oswego Walmart, according to an Oswego Police report.
An Oswego Township woman reported being scammed out of $1,000 by a Craigslist poster claiming to have a home for rent. The incident was reported to the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office at about 10:30 a.m. Feb. 18. There are no suspects in the case, the sheriff’s office said.
Larry Valyou, 39, of 280 Morgan Valley Drive, was arrested for domestic battery at about 7:20 a.m. Feb. 18 at his home, according to an Oswego Police report. He was taken to the Kendall County Jail.
Drug possession with intent to deliver
Matthew Bednarkiewicz, 19, of Plainfield, was arrested for possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia at about 1:20 p.m. Feb. 17 near Route 31 and Boat Lane in Oswego Township, according to a Kendall County Sheriff’s Office report. According the to sheriff’s office, he was in possession of more than 50 grams of marijuana.
