Group Hit with Drinking Charges After Car Found in Ditch

Four individuals were arrested on various charges after a car ended up in a ditch in Oswego Township early Sunday morning.
According to a Kendall County Sheriff’s Office report, deputies responded to the 0 to 99 block of North West Drive at about 1 a.m. Sunday for a call of a car in a ditch.
Upon investigation, deputies discovered the driver of the vehicle, Martin Kim, 18, of 11 North West Drive, Oswego Township, did not have a valid driver’s license. He was charged with that and also for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor, the sheriff’s office said.
Another man who stopped to help Kim, Michael Malito, 19, of Joliet, was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol, and was charged with DUI, the sheriff’s office said.
Kira Morris, 18, of Lockport, who was also at the scene, was charged with unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor, the sheriff's office said.
Finally, a 15-year-old girl from Romeoville was also charged with unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor and curfew violation, the sheriff's office said.
