"How My Optimism Will Help Me Press on to Greater Achievements of the Future?"

If you can answer this question in a 4-5 minute speech, and you are a student under the age of 19 who has not yet graduated high school or the equivalent, you are invited to compete for cash prizes in boys or girls division of the Oswegoland Optimist Club Oratorical Contest.

Competitors do not have to be Oswego residents.

The first place winner will receive $200 cash and can advance to the state competition, which provides a $2,500 scholarship for the winner.

Second place at the club level will receive $100.

This contest helps spread optimism each year by allowing our youth to share their passion on different topics. Students must be registered via mail to: Oswegoland Optimist Club, P. O. Box 882, Oswego, IL 60543.

Rules and Application can be found at this link: www.optimist.org/Forms/Oratorical. The deadline to register via mail is Feb. 28.
