Oswego Man, Teacher Facing Sexual Assault Charges

An Oswego man who teaches in Kaneland School District 302 has been charged with criminal sexual assault and possessing child pornography after police say he engaged in a sexual relationship with one of his students.
According the the Kane County Sheriff's Office, Glen Baum, 42, of the 5000 block of Heritage Drive, was arrested at his home Wednesday evening in coordination with Oswego Police.
Police were alerted to the relationship when the student's mother found inappropriate text messages on the girl's phone, police said. The relationship between Baum and the girl became physical last May and lasted through January, police said.
In all, Baum is charged on 11 felony counts, and he is being held in the Kane County Jail on $250,000 bail.
