A Chicago man is in custody after an Oswego car accident led to a beating Tuesday afternoon.

According to Oswego Police Chief Jeff Burgner, two vehicles were involved in a car crash at about 4:30 p.m. near the Shell Gas Station at 1190 Route 34.

Carlos Larios, 19, of Chicago is alleged to have caused the accident, and when the driver of the other car exited his vehicle, Larios and his unidentified passenger began beating him, police said.

Larios and the passenger then fled the scene. Oswego Police eventually caught up with the vehicle a short time later in the parking lot of the Oswego Noodles and Co., Burgner said.

Larios was taken into custody, but his passenger could not be found.

Larios was charged with aggravated battery and mob action, and was taken to the Kendall County Jail.
