Man Runs from Officers After Shoplifting: Police

Retail theft

Zoila Reys, 42, of Aurora, was charged with retail theft at about 4:25 p.m. Oct. 18 at Walmart, according to an Oswego Police report. She is charged with taking about $408 worth of merchandise, police said.

Underage drinking

Jorge Ochoa, 19, and Osvaldo Almaraz, 18, both of Aurora, were charged with unlawful consumption of alcohol and unlawful transportation of alcohol at about 2 a.m. Oct. 18 at Boulder Hill Pass and Route 25, according to a Kendall County Sheriff’s Office report.

Retail theft, resisting arrest

Austin Allen, 19, of Naperville, was charged with retail theft and resisting a police officer after allegedly stealing about $14 worth of merchandise from Walmart at about 9 p.m. Oct. 17, according to Oswego Police. Allen allegedly fled Walmart on foot and was caught by police a short distance later in the Aldi parking lot.

Winrock tagged with graffiti 

Kendall County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating graffiti spray-painted at Winrock Park sometime before 8:45 a.m. Oct. 17. Damage is estimated at about $300.

Senior battered

A 72-year-old woman who is a resident of the Diamond Senior Apartments on White Oak Drive was battered by another resident at about 6:50 p.m. Oct. 16, according to Oswego Police.  No one has been arrested and the incident is still under investigation.


Michael Olvares, 22, of 431 Fawn Drive, was charged with DUI, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia possession after being stopped for speeding at about 1:35 a.m. Oct. 15, the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office said.

Cocaine found

An employee of Meijer found packaged cocaine near the cash registers at about 5:30 p.m. Oct. 14, Oswego Police said. Police were unable to identify a suspect.
