UPDATED 9:55 P.M. TUESDAY

Oswego Police responded to a third-party call of a suicidal man at about 7:20 p.m. Tuesday in the 500 block of Heritage Drive.

Upon arrival, police determined the man was making suicidal threats and had barricaded himself in the home's basement, according to reports. About 1 hour and 40 minutes later police convinced him to leave the home peacefully.

No one else was in the home at the time, and the man was not armed, according to Oswego Police Capt. Jeff Burgner.

The man was taken to Rush-Copley Medical Center for treatment.

No charges have been filed at this time, Burgner said.
