A cyclist ran into the back of a stopped garbage truck Thursday afternoon in rural Kendall County, sending the cyclist to the hospital.

Kendall County Sheriff’s deputies and Oswego Fire Protection District paramedics were called to the intersection of Cherry and Schlapp roads for the accident at about 12:30 p.m.

Sheriff’s Deputy Bryan Harl said the cyclist was transported to Rush-Copley Medical Center for minor injuries. Harl said he did not know how fast the cyclist was traveling when he ran into the truck.
