Car Stolen from Meijer Parking Lot: Police

A New Lenox woman reported that her car was stolen from the Meijer store sometime between 9:30 and 10:20 p.m. July 13, according to an Oswego Police report. There are no suspects in the theft.
Kelly Ortega, 28, of Montgomery was charged with DUI and improper stopping on a roadway at about 6:50 a.m. July 13 at Route 71 and Washington Street, according to an Oswego Police report. She was given an Aug. 4 court date.
DUI, leaving the scene of an accident
Joseph James, 23, of Plainfield, was charged with DUI, leaving the scene of an accident, improper lane usage an on a failure to appear warrant at about 1:45 a.m. July 13 at Grove and Reservation roads, according to an Oswego Police report. He was taken to the Kendall County Jail.
Michael Jenkins, 52, of Aurora, was charged with DUI at about 12:45 a.m July 12 at Route 34 and Chicago Road, according to an Oswego Police report. He was given an Aug. 18 court date.
Juveniles out late with pot
Kendall County Sheriff’s police stopped two juveniles out driving at about 3:30 a.m. July 12 on Route 31 at the Fox Metro plant. The two were charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The driver was charged with not having a driver’s license and the passenger on a curfew violation.
Laura Parra-Castro, 28, of Schaumburg, was charged with battery on July 12 at 2850 Route 34, according to an Oswego Police report. She was given an Aug. 4 court date.
Garden gnome thrown through window
A Boulder Hill man on Hubbard Way reported someone through a garden gnome through the back window of his car sometime before 6:45 a.m. July 10, according to a Kendall County Sheriff’s office report. Damage was estimated at about $1,000.
Ashley Jasman, 32, of 102 Lakeshore Drive, Oswego, was charged with retail theft at about 7:10 p.m. July 9 at story at Route 34 and Douglas Road, according to an Oswego Police report. The value of the stolen items was about $100, police said.
Speeding more than 40 mph
James Kilbride, 22, of Shiloh, Illinois, was charged with speeding 40 mph over the speed limit at about 11:45 a.m. July 9 at Orchard Road and Tuscany Trail, according to an Oswego Police report.
Kristine Rogers, 45, of Yorkville, was charged with DUI, following too closely and improper lane usage at about 1:30 a.m. July 8 at Route 71 and Calumet, according to an Oswego Police report. She was given an Aug. 12 court date.
Bag stolen at fireworks
An Oswego woman had a bag stolen while she attended the Oswego fireworks show at about 9:30 p.m. July 4. near Woolley Road and Linden Street, according to an Oswego Police report. The bag and its contents were valued at about $290.
