Local Police to Meet with Residents Next Week

Jun 18, 2014 02:18PM ● By Steven Jack
On June 26, deputies from the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office, officers from the Oswego Police Department and community members will come together in an informal, neutral space to discuss community issues, build relationships, and drink coffee.

All community members are invited to attend. The event runs from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. on June 26 at Dunkin Donuts, 2420 Rt. 34, Oswego. Please contact Deputy Mike Mrozek with questions: (630) 768-2865 or

Coffee with a Cop provides a unique opportunity for community members to ask questions and learn more about how the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office and Oswego Police Department work together.

The majority of contacts law enforcement has with the public are during emergencies or emotional situations. Those situations are not always the most effective times for relationship building with the community and some community members may feel that officers are hard to approach on the street. Coffee with a Cop breaks down barriers and allows for a relaxed, one-on-one interaction.

“We hope that community members will feel comfortable to ask questions, bring concerns, or simply get to know their local deputies and officers,” said Deputy Mike Mrozek. “These interactions are the foundation of community partnerships.”
