Oswego Co-Op Rugby Players Headed to State Championship Match

A high school rugby team made up of players from both Oswego high schools will compete for the State Championship on Monday in Loves Park. 

The Chiefs defeated the Arlington Stallions 26-17 Thursday night in the semi-finals of the Illinois Youth Rugby Association Division 1 High School Boys Playoffs held at Crossroads Church in Aurora.

According to the Chiefs Rugby Club Facebook page, the match was "close" and "hard fought."

The team also includes players from Waubonsie Valley, Metea Valley, Aurora Central Catholic, Neuqua Valley, and Yorkville High Schools.
