Market on Main Street Returns Friday

Oswego’s own summer antique market is back for its third night of the summer.

Scheduled for 4 to 8 p.m., Market on Main Street will feature antiques, vintage treasures and repurposed items from 24 vendors along Main Street from Route 34 to Jackson Street. 

Forget cooking dinner Friday night, as the market also will include food from Aurora's Wurts Kitchen brats, sweet and savory pies from Geneva’s The Noble Pie, Page’s Popcorn and sweets from EnJoi Bakeshop out of Morris.

“This has become much more than just an antique market,” said organizer Joyce Peltz of Re-Joyce Design and Consign. “Now it’s more like a street fair.”

This is the third year for the market, which has nearly doubled in size from its inaugural event along Jackson Street. 

For those looking to do some additional shopping downtown, Peltz said the majority of the businesses will have later hours Friday night. 

With the forecast calling for sunny skies and temperatures in the 70s, Peltz said she’s anticipating a great turnout. After Friday’s event, one more market remains for this year and are set for Friday Aug. 15.
