Woman Driving 106 mph While Drunk: Police

For the second time in recent days a garbage can was set on fire at Fox Chase Elementary School at about 1:45 a.m. May 11, according to an Oswego Police report. There are no suspects, but police continue to investigate.
Michael Harris, Jr. 28, of 416 Fawn Drive, was charged with domestic battery at about 7:40 p.m. May 10 at his home, according to an Oswego Police report. He was given a June 10 court date.
Oswego Police are investigating at least six vehicle break-ins in the downtown area from the overnight hours of May 8-9. Several vehicles were entered and personal belongings taken. The value of items taken ranged from just a few dollars to $1,000. Some of the items were later found thrown about town and returned to the victims, police said.
Oswego Police are investigating the theft of four wheels and tires from a parked vehicle that occurred in sometime before 9 a.m. May 10 at Enterprise Rent-a-Car on Kirkland Circle in Oswego. The wheels and rims were valued at about $2,800.
A 16- and 17-year-old juvenile, both from Oswego, were charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia at about 9:50 p.m. May 8 in the 100 block of Old Post Road, according to an Oswego Police report. Both were released to the custody of their parents, police said.
Antoine Jackson, 32, of 173 Dolores St., Oswego Township, was charged with domestic battery at about 9 a.m. May 6 at his home after allegedly punching a female acquaintance in the head, according to a Kendall County Sheriff’s office report.
Mercedes Urness, 23, of Yorkville, was charged with speeding 40 mph over the speed limit and DUI at about 12:15 a.m. May 5 near Route 71 and Buell Road in Oswego Township, according to a Kendall County Sheriff’s office release. Urness was clocked going 106 mph in a 55 mph zone, officers said. A female 17-year-old juvenile in the car was also charged with possession of marijuana, alcohol and drug paraphernalia.
Threats made with pick axe
Robery Plum, 49, 48 Fernwood Road, was charged with domestic battery and interfering with the reporting of a domestic battery at about 10:30 p.m. May 5 at his home, according to a Kendall County Sheriff’s office report. It is alleged that Plum wielded a pick axe in a threatening manner at people in the home, deputies said.
Ismael Alvarado, 36, of 169 Heathgate Road, Oswego Township, was charged with domestic battery after striking a female acquaintance in his home at about 5 p.m. May 4, according to a Kendall County Sheriff’s office report. Alvarado also took away the woman’s phone and destroyed several other items in the home, the report said. He’s also facing criminal damage to property and interfering with a 911 call charges.
DUI after single-car accident
Michael Castle, 23, of 311 Boulder Hill Pass, Oswego Township was charged with DUI leaving the scene of an accident, using his cell phone while driving and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident after a single-car crash at about 4:40 a.m. May 4 near River Mist and Mill Roads, according to a Kendall County Sheriff’s office report. The report said Castle was found to be walking away from the accident when deputies arrived.
