The Kendall County Sheriff's office is warning residents against travel during the blizzard-like conditions predicted overnight Tuesday and into Wednesday.

"The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office wants to remind members of the public that during severe winter weather people should stay home unless there is a dire emergency," the county said in a statement. "Anyone that must be driving in these conditions should have proper clothing and supplies with them.  If weather is severe enough plow trucks and tow trucks may not be available.  If you become stranded in some rural areas public safety may not be able to reach you for some time."

National Weather Service forecasts the Oswego area will receive 4-8 inches in the next 12 hours. Wind gusts could reach 40 mph overnight, creating severe drifting conditions.
